Updated: May 16, 2022

An Enchantment of Ravens is a fantasy-based novel by Margaret Rogerson, published in September 2017. It's a hit single stand-alone novel that is based in the fae realm. Following Isobel a human painter who seems to be at the top of her trade, where her first commission comes with a deadly price. Requested by the Autumn Prince Rook, Isobel paints him only to have him return in fury for painting the one thing Fae can not have. Emotion. Drawn into his eyes is the emotion of human sorrow that could gravely affect his position on the throne.

Isobel is in over her head when it comes to the fae, being mortal and all, Isobel knows she should be careful. However, this one mistake could cost her life and the Autumn prince his lively hood. Star-crossed, enemies to lovers this fantasy romance explores a whole new world Isobel is not equipped to handle.

“Yet no matter what they were doing, everyone in the forest waited with an indrawn breath, waiting for the taste of autumn, the smell of change, the first news of a king and queen unlike any the world had known before.”

Do you know the feeling when every corner you go around something new is there to surprise you, well this is what this story is like. Feeling overwhelmed with every turn

MY THOUGHTS

If there was a novel that made me dizzy this would be one. Isobel seemed to dig herself a hole every corner she turned, and not only that Rook followed like a lost puppy if he didn't notice. Not that it seemed that way, but you just knew the two would fall in love. Even with the brooding look and unhealthy obsession to stay angry with Isobel Rook most definitely was intrigued by her talent and way with a brush. some would say they were fated and I think after reading this novel they were. There are just some relationships that are meant to happen, and for a moment it doesn't seem like it's going to happen but it does.
